Record: 11-3
Season Review: The Galileo Lions badminton team finished in 2nd place, making the playoffs for the 3rd straight year. This was an impressive year for the team, making it to the first round of the playoffs. Unfortunately, they lost in a close battle against Washington to end their season.
Outlook: With only 3 graduating seniors, the future for the badminton team looks bright. However, because next year is the beginning of the addition of male players, the team may be in jeopardy of losing a few of their most talented players to make room for the for the new co-ed team.
“Overall, the season went well. We were able to bond a bit more as a team as players and as normal friends. Many of the players improved a lot throughout the season.” Senior, Bonita Kam

Season Review
This season’s Fencing Team lost all their matches because had many new players and only had two returning players this year. Even with the daily practices, many of the new players joined right before the season’s start, so they only had the basics down before actually starting in a match.
Outlook: Next year’s team is surely to be more competitive now that they are all experienced players. Next year, although they lose their beloved captain, they will surely be able to climb to the top!
“The most memorable moment was during our third match against Washington. One of my new fencers didn’t know when to stop fencing, so he kept stabbing his opponent, who was on the floor.” Senior, Ashley Luk

Record: 2-5
Season Review: Although the Girl’s Golf Team did not have a favorable record, they had a balanced number of experienced and new players, leading them through a good season with many close matches.
Outlook: Although many of the more experienced players are graduating, the team is confident that there will be improvement next season.
“Other teams had more players, but we did well this year due to the amount of people on the team.” – Mimi Ip

gvollyGirls Junior Varsity Volleyball
Record: 5-4 Review: The Galileo junior varsity volleyball team finished this season with a winning record, but barely missed the playoffs by one game. Although they lost to the Washington Eagles, they had strong wins against the Lincoln Mustangs and the Wallenberg Bulldogs.
Outlook: Next year, the junior varsity volleyball team will lose some key players but hopefully the incoming freshmen will step it up to the next level so the team can make it to the playoffs.
“We never gave up and always tried our best to succeed.” Sophomore, Jeannie Chan

Record: 4 – 2
Season Review: This year the Galileo Wrestling Team gained a lot of new players and finished in 3rd place. With the loss of many players last season, the team was able to maintain the same record they had the previous year but fell from 2nd place to 3rd place.
Outlook: With only 1 senior on the team leaving and with so many new players this season, the team is in good shape for next season. With many returning freshmen, sophomore, and juniors, the team looks to use their experience to improve their skills and composure for the upcoming season.
“This season was a rebuilding season for us, but with many new wrestlers this year, we should look do pretty good next season.” Junior, Michael Chan

The Galileo Boy’s Tennis Team had a strong season coming in second place. Individually, Juan Pablo Garcia won the singles title for the first time at Galileo since 1938.
Season Outlook
Next year the team will only have four returning players. Coach Ramos has to look to recruit new players to replace the graduating players.

Record: 6-8
Review: This year’s Galileo’s young softball team played strong ending their season with 6 wins. However, they came up short one game from making the playoffs.
Outlook: With only 3 leaving seniors and a lot of returning freshmen and sophomores the future looks bright, next year the team hopes to play better than this year hopefully making it into the play offs again like last year.
“I think we did well considering the amount of time we had. We played well against our division teams and did even better against the other division.” Junior Captain, Stephanie Owyeong

Season Review: Galileo has beat every school in competition this year except for Lincoln, Lowell, and Washington. They are going on to the All City SF Championship and winners have the chance to go on to State Championship. Although Coach Adams believes it’s not his best team, the team is showing improvement.
Outlook: Hopefully freshmen and sophomores will be back to train, because track is shooting for 1st place next year.
“Our team is amazing. We have new freshmen’s and I believe the freshmen’s would get better,” Andrew Wong, Sprinter
